Confidence causes
Confidence.
Confidence causes words to flow
Words that might be untrue
A few moments from now.

They say people who leave
Don't deserve to know you
I'm not sure what to believe

But still I can't shake the fact
That some of the things you said
You actually meant.

Anger is a trap
Danger lies rampant there.
Funny how danger is just anger
With a D.
Perhaps it stands for Delusion or Despair
Perhaps Disappointment or mere Despondency.

If anger cannot be my response
If hatred cannot be my source of heat
I'll kindle this fire with love and joy
And upon your head, these coals I'll heap.

I did not shut you out—
Rather, I let you in.
With open arms I invited you to stay
But you kicked me out instead.

Confidence in you gave me
Confidence
That the words we spoke were true
I don't want to break my promises
So I will remain waiting here for you
Although the time will come to move
