Gold Brick With Lemon Wrapped Around It Smashing Into The Side Of My Head

Pins and needles
Pins and needles
Stabbing like spears
Into lobes and temples

Mind-aches, brain-quakes
Headaches
For heaven's sake.

Needles, needles
Made from steel
Iron, graphite, rusty drill
Spinning spiraling
Fissures burst—skull is rent.

Eyebrows clamped
In the jaws of a vise
Frowning, unstoppable—
Pressure? Nice.
Massage, no good
Ears ring, too.

Piercing, piercing
Black dots cornering eyes
Odd sensations, silver ripples
In the air.

Lie down awhile?
Too much caffeine?
Not enough?
Mere deficiency?

Nape of neck, base of skull—
Top, bottom, middle.
Fractured, all over, nowhere.
Behind the ear—
Eye cavity hull.
A line is etched, burning, aflame
Spiked and wretched—
Sinuses affected.

Pins pins
Pierce the flesh
Stab beneath the nervous system
Sounds unseen, old, yet fresh—
Misery brings drowsiness in its wake.

Pins and needles
Pins and needles
See them, taste them, feel them, touch them.
Silver, painful, golden, bitter—
Sour taste, iron log-splitter.
Jackhammer to the head.

Lie down?
Close eyes?
Relax?
Stress? Lack of sustenance,
Starving to death?
Overworked? Overtired? Sleep deprived?
Spark plugs sputtering, engine refusing
To fire?
Out of fuel?
Out of time?
Overthinking again...? (All the time)

Pins and needles
Pins and needles
Stabbing like spears
Into lobes and temples

Mind-aches, brain-quakes, migraines.
Migraine headaches
All mine, ingrained.
My migraine headaches.
For heaven's sake.
